Author: Emily Unity

The term “Intersectionality” was first coined by Kimberlé Crenshaw in 1989, who described it as “a lens through which you can see where power comes and collides, where it interlocks and intersects.” She published a paper titled “Demarginalizing the Intersection of Race and Sex” where she examined three legal cases that involved issues of both racism and sexism.
