A BLUEPRINT FOR IMPROVING THE HEALTH & WELLBEING OF THE TRANS & GENDER DIVERSE COMMUNITY IN NSW
Organisation: ACON
The NSW health sector is guided by the goals of keeping people healthy, providing world-class clinical care and delivering truly integrated care. Central to this is a commitment, as outlined in the NSW State Health Plan: Towards 2021 to supporting healthier communities for all of those who live in NSW, with recognition that “some people and communities have particular health needs and barriers to accessing the care they need”.
The OVOLOW Resource Hub acknowledges First Nations peoples as the Traditional Custodians of their unceded lands, seas, and waters of so-called Australia, and pays respect to all First Nations Elders. This always has been and always will be Aboriginal land. We pay our respects to all First Nations LGBTIQA+ people with disability and recognise the distinct and significant contributions they make to Australian life and disability and LGBTIQA+ communities.
‘Nothing about us, without us’
The OVOLOW Resource Hub recognises LGBTIQA+ people with disability as the leaders and co-creators of this work. We acknowledge the generosity of this community whose stories, knowledge, experiences, and expertise make these resources possible for the betterment of all. ‘Nothing about us without us’.
